Springhaven comprises ten hectares of land where kangaroos graze and birdlife is abundant. On the property we grow our own vegetables and fruit, make cheese and lead a quiet life. We also grow plants for dyeing wool (coreopsis, eucalypts, kangaroo paws and fungi) and strive to ensure that our domestic and native animals are happy and contented.
For those interested in Australian plants, in addition to the species native to the area we also cultivate a large and varied collection of Banksias.
Springhaven is adjacent to the Bibbulmun Track. The immediate area offers coastal walks and sandy beaches, with good fishing and swimming spots.
Albany has many attractions both historical and general. It is surrounded by spectacular coastline with whale-watching in season, and the hinterland includes both the Stirling and Porongorup Ranges, famous for their flora and fauna. Denmark is a smaller town with a different charm, with excellent wineries and art and craft galleries.
