Brown Cottage has two bedrooms and can sleep four (one queen and two singles, all with electric blankets). It has a fully equipped kitchen with an electric stove, microwave and fridge/freezer, and ample work areas and storage space. The laundry has a washing machine. The bathroom has a bath/shower and there is a separate toilet.

A Squirrel wood stove provides heating on the cooler days and there is an electric fan for when the temperature rises (but guests might prefer to lounge on the verandah in a natural breeze).

The cottage has a television set and a large library of books, board games and jigsaw puzzles.

The closest source of provisions and fuel is the Youngs Siding general store, about six kilometres away. It is about 30 kilometres to Denmark and a bit further in the opposite direction to Albany.
